Open in February & The Traditional New Year 🌸
In the traditional Japanese calendar, the period from January 20th to early February is called "Daikan" (Major Cold). As the name suggests, it is the coldest time of the year.
Then, around February 4th, we celebrate "Risshun."
This day marks the beginning of the year in the old lunar calendar.
The word "Risshun" means "Start of Spring," but ironically, it comes during the coldest days of winter. Isn't Japanese culture interesting?
During this season, the severe cold can often disturb your autonomic nervous system or cause "Winter Blues."
Please take care of yourself by soaking in a hot bath or drinking warm tea.
Moonted is open as usual in February (12:00 PM – 12:00 AM).
I am waiting for you with a warm massage bed to melt away your stress.
P.S.
The photo shows "Ume" (Plum blossoms) blooming in my neighborhood.
They are in full bloom, as if celebrating the coming of the traditional New Year (Risshun). 🌸
